Conveniently located just off Interstate 75, you’ll find Wild Adventures Theme Park- a park that is packed full of adventures for the entire family! This park is great stop for anyone traveling down I-75 to or from Florida, as there are activities for everyone to enjoy. We highly recommend adding it to your to-do list soon!

Wild Adventures packs plenty of thrills offering seven roller coasters throughout the park! The seven coasters offer a great variety from wooden to steel and offer selections for the daring adventurers to family thrill seekers.

Cheetah is a 90 foot tall, 3,000 foot long wooden coaster which offers a panoramic view of the park before dropping riders along a track which reaches an excess of 50 mph! Cheetah was built by Customs Coasters, Inc. in 2001.

Viking Voyage offers a 45-foot decent and takes riders up to speeds to 40 mph. The style of this ride is known in the coaster community as a Triple Out and Back.

Swamp Thing is a suspended Vekoma International coaster that takes riders up and over Wild Adventure’s swap area. Swamp Thing twists and turns riders at speeds up to 26 mph and to 1,122 feet of twist and turns.  Make sure you secure all your personal belongings because as you twist and turn, you find yourself dangling over gators below!

Twisted Typhoon is a Vekoma suspended looping coaster offering a roller over, sidewinder, and a double inline twist inversions. Twisted Typhoon reaches speeds up to 49 mph and a height over 100 feet!

Boomerang is a thrilling Vekoma steel coater offering a cobra roll and a vertical loop. Boomerang drops riders 125 feet, providing 5.2 G’s at speeds of 48 mphs.

Go Bananas is a “wild mouse” styled coaster which spins, turns, and drops riders who are looking for a great thrill. The coaster reaches a height of 49 feet and offers 1,214 feet of family fun.

Ant Farm Express is a thrilling family coaster in Vekoma’s style of a roller skate model coaster. Ant Farm Express reaches a top speed of 22 mph and a drop of 20 feet, making this a great first time coaster for little thrill seekers 36” or taller in your family!

If roller coasters aren’t your speed, Wild Adventures boast some really fun flat rides for the entire family. One of our favorite flat-ride styles that offers great thrills can be found here at Wild Adventure, Tailspin. Tailspin launches you 50 feet forwards and then backwards, spinning as you get a great 360 of the area around you.

After you get your fill of thrills, stop by the Splash Island Water Park (opened seasonally AND included in the price of admission) which located within Wild Adventures. The Waterpark offers Catchawave Bay, a 20,000 square-foot wave pool, Paradise River, a lazy river that wraps around Splash Island, and a great selection of exhilarating water slides!

Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas presented by Humana has long been known as one of the world’s best holiday theme park events. Dolly Parton today unveiled plans for an awe-inspiring new parade—dreamed up as only she can—which will add even more excitement to this family-favorite festival.

Named The Parade of Many Colors, the new $2.5 million addition helps make this year’s event the best and brightest in the park’s history. The parade perfectly complements Dollywood’s spectacular Christmas offerings which include four million festive lights, the remastered Christmas in the Smokies, the all-new It’s a Wonderful Life, and the joyous holiday atmosphere guests have come to enjoy during this lively festival.

Like her new NBC holiday movie, Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, Parton’s new parade celebrates the fun, faith, family and harmony of the holidays. Vibrant floats, interactive characters and a few other surprises help spread cheer throughout Dollywood this holiday season.

“The joy I feel during the Christmas season makes my heart sing because of the love and sweet Christmas memories I have of family and friends from when I was a child,” Parton said with a smile. “Christmas is the time of year when traditions, faith and family come together to create experiences we all remember forever. That is why my new movie and this parade are so important for me. I truly believe The Parade of Many Colors will inspire some of those same lifelong memories for the families who see it.”

The Parade of Many Colors represents another significant investment made by The Dollywood Company as part of the $300 million investment strategy announced in 2013. The company also recently announced the addition of TailSpin Racer to Dollywood’s Splash Country for 2017.

Dollywood has added two days to its calendar, December 6 and 13, to provide guests more time to experience the eight-time winner for Best Christmas Event. One of Dollywood’s greatest entertainment offerings is remastered in 2016, as Christmas in the Smokies, returns to its traditional home at D.P.’s Celebrity Theater. Guests can celebrate the joy of the season while a cast of singers and dancers performs hometown holiday favorites while accompanied by a band of live musicians!

Dollywood’s entertainment team brings a Christmas classic to life with the debut of It’s a Wonderful Life. Based on the timeless holiday story of love and generosity, small town businessman George Bailey discovers the true value of life, family and friends with a little help from his guardian angel, Clarence.

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” Returns To Universal Orlando Resort’s Halloween Horror Nights 26

Don’t Enter…Dead Inside. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

This fall, Universal Orlando Resort is bringing back AMC’s hit series, “The Walking Dead,” to Halloween Horror Nights, propelling guests into the most horrifying highlights of all six seasons – all in one unbelievably terrifying haunted house.

Guests will walk – or run – in the footsteps of the show’s cast of survivors, fending off packs of flesh-hungry walkers at every turn. They’ll step inside instantly-recognizable locations, such as the hospital from Season 1 where Rick awakens to a world overrun with the dead, the unnerving home of the Governor in Season 3 and the seemingly-safe refuge, Terminus, from Season 4.

The experience will culminate with iconic scenes from Season 6, where guests will trudge through a decomposed sewer and try to evade the brutal pack of villains, The Wolves, after they’ve invaded Alexandria. Along the way, they’ll rush to avoid the bite of the show’s most memorable walkers – including some that have never been seen before at “Halloween Horror Nights.” Click here for a sneak peek of the terror in store for Universal Orlando guests.

A popular “Halloween Horror Nights” staple at Universal Studios Hollywood, “The Walking Dead” has turned into an immersive 365-day experience inviting guests to step into a no-holds-barred zombie apocalypse. Brought to life with immersive detail, the new theme park attraction and “Halloween Horror Nights’’ offering is a collaboration with AMC and series Executive Producer and Director Greg Nicotero, whose special effects company, KNB Efx, raises the dead on the blockbuster TV series as well as for Universal Studios’ new permanent daytime  attraction.

Coupled with authentic walker make-up effects, sophisticated animatronic walkers, substantially more detailed set design and costuming, and highly recognizable props replicated from the series, Universal Studios Hollywood’s “The Walking Dead” attraction will deliver an uncompromised realistic environment that brings guests even further into the most watched show in cable television history.

“The Walking Dead” is one of the most successful cable television shows in history. Based on the graphic novels by Robert Kirkman, its passionate fan base continues to grow and follow the story of survivors in a post-apocalyptic world filled with ferocious walkers. The show returns for a seventh season in October, enabling fans to relive their favorite moments at “Halloween Horror Nights” before watching all-new episodes.

Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” is the ultimate Halloween event. For more than 20 years, guests from around the world have visited “Halloween Horror Nights” in Orlando and Hollywood to become victims inside their own horror film. The streets of each coast’s event are transformed into highly-themed scare zones where menacing “scare-actors” lunge from every darkened corner. Multiple movie-quality haunted houses are erected throughout the event, based on anything from iconic slasher films to hit horror television series to haunting original stories.

Award-winning Bluegrass Musicians, Tangy Barbeque Create Perfect Harmony During Dollywood’s Barbeque & Bluegrass

Sweet sounds from the biggest names in bluegrass and the tangy tastes of the greatest barbeque in the South create a perfect harmony for guests during Dollywood’s Barbeque & Bluegrass (May 13-22).  Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Blue Highway, Dailey & Vincent, and The Willis Clan are just a small selection of the talented bluegrass pickers taking to the stage during this annual tradition.

“It always is a special treat to have these great bluegrass performers during my Barbeque & Bluegrass festival at Dollywood,” Dolly Parton said. “There is nothing like listening to these award-winning performers when they take the stage to share their talents with our guests. There is only one thing that makes the music better and that is a plate full of our famous southern barbeque—especially the ribs!”

Rhonda Vincent & The Rage (May 15-16) are among the acts to help get the festival started on a high note. An impressive calendar of bluegrass talent performs throughout the event with more than 250 concerts scheduled during the festival. Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver set up shop May 18 while Dailey & Vincent take the stage May 18-19. Other Barbeque & Bluegrass artists include Blue Highway (May 20), The Boxcars (May 22) and Balsam Range (May 22). The lineup also includes The Willis Clan (May 15), stars of the TLC show The Willis Family.

Vincent, one of bluegrass music’s most well-known performers, is a mainstay during the park’s annual festival and says the experience is unlike any other for her.

“We always love performing at Dollywood,” exclaimed Vincent. “There’s a special excitement in the air every time we perform there, and it comes through in the show and in the response of everyone in the crowd. We can’t wait to get there!”

All concerts are free and included with park admission. For a complete lineup of concert performances and show times, please visit

Dollywood’s award-winning food perfectly complements the sounds of bluegrass music’s finest. The aroma of bold barbeque wafts through the air, thanks to expertly-prepared pulled pork, smoked sausage and chicken, and slabs of ribs. Bountiful barbeque entrees are accompanied by Southern favorites like baked beans, corn on the cob and more. Guests also can find a number of sweet treats to put an exclamation point on their meal!

From bluegrass favorites and tangy barbeque at Dollywood’s Barbeque and Bluegrass to the park’s award-winning rides and family-friendly atmosphere, every season features amazing new memory-making moments to celebrate.

The construction should finish up this week, cars will begin testing mid April, and barring any issues the coaster will open to the public on Memorial Day weekend.

Blackbeard’s Lost Treasure Train will be transformed into the “Harley Quinn Crazy Train”

We checked out the Sky Bar which will serve beer, wine, and snacks as well as a look at where they have completely removed the building from the former Chiller coaster. Speculation is already swirling around this being the site for a 2017 addition, but nothing official was discussed.

SeaWorld Orlando Unveils New Coaster Car: Inspired by Sharks, Engineered for Speed

Today, SeaWorld Orlando unveiled the custom-built Mako lead car that will take riders on a thrilling experience this summer – the tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster in Orlando.

Mako’s design and engineering was inspired by the real Mako shark – one of the ocean’s fastest shark species.  When it opens, Mako will top 200 feet high and reach speeds of 73 mph on a track that’s nearly a mile long. The new ride will be a hypercoaster, which means it’s all about speed, tight turns and that weightless feeling riders get at the top of each hill.

Coaster Train Design Facts Include:

  • Mako-Inspired Custom Car – In a collaboration between SeaWorld’s animal experts and ride engineers, the car is inspired by the physiology of an actual Mako shark, including five gills on each side, eye placement and sleek, hydro-dynamic look.

  • Fast Wheels Comprised of a special compound that reduces friction — providing a smooth, relentlessly fast ride from beginning to end.

  • Upper Body Mobility With only a lap guard on their lower body, riders’ upper bodies are free for added mobility and “airtime”

The coaster will boast a total of 21 cars – including 3 trains of 7 cars per train.
